Recording & AI — the plain-language version

  • 1. We never record secretly. A video call is only recorded if BOTH people explicitly tap “Agree & Continue” on the consent screen shown before the call. If either person declines, no recording happens — at all.
  • 2. You always see when recording is on. A red “REC” badge stays visible for the entire recorded call. Either person can press “Stop Recording” at any moment, and capture stops immediately for both sides.
  • 3. AI processes consented recordings only. After a recorded call ends, our AI analyzes the audio and video (energy, laughter and engagement peaks) to create 3–5 short highlight clips. Clips are private to the two participants by default — MinyMo never publishes them automatically, but a participant may create a public share link to a specific clip.
  • 4. You stay in control. You can delete your copy of any clip in My Sessions. When both participants delete a clip, the file is permanently purged from our storage. You can also report any clip for moderation review.

1. What we collect

Account data: your email and display name. Session data: who you matched with, when, your consent choices, and session status. Recordings and clips: only for sessions where both participants consented to recording.

2. How recordings are processed

Consented recordings are processed by our automated AI pipeline to detect highlight moments (audio energy and laughter analysis). The output is 3–5 short clips linked to your session. Recordings and clips are stored on our servers and are accessible to the two session participants through authenticated requests — plus anyone holding a public share link that a participant chose to create.

3. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your copy of any clip from “My Sessions” at any time. When both participants have deleted a clip, the file is permanently purged from storage. Raw session recordings are retained only for processing and moderation purposes.

4. Who can see your clips

AI-generated clips are private to the two session participants by default. MinyMo does not automatically publish your clips. A participant may choose to share a clip using MinyMo’s Share feature: sharing creates a public link to that specific clip, and anyone with the link may view it. Do not share a clip if you do not have the right to share its content. MinyMo never sells your data and never shares recordings with third parties except when required by law or for moderation of reported content.

5. Your choices

You can decline recording on every call — declining never blocks you from chatting. You can stop an in-progress recording at any moment. You can report content and delete your clips whenever you want.
